One last Colorado adventure

Here are a few pictures from our trip to Mesa Verde before departing Colordo. It was amazing to see such beautiful creations.
View from atop the Cliff Palace

Here is Laura with Naila. She had to brave slow walkers, steep cliffs and ladders all while carrying little Naila.

We had planned to camp a few nights for this four corners adventure--but when multiple friends with kids gave us that knowing smile and said things like "wow, how daring...", "we tried that for ONE night...", and "you guys are so adventurous..." we decided that maybe a motel wouldn't be a bad idea for this journey. It also may have helped the decision making process when Laura said--"I am NOT looking forward to sleeping in a tent with two babies". Sometimes you just have to admit defeat and enjoy the outcome.

View from inside the Cliff Palace--our guide was very informative and we even got to see some 700 year old artwork!
Our trip was perfectly timed--notice I'm not sweating!

This is Maya in one of her nice moments. She and her sister shared the back seat and were generally in good moods. This turned out to be a great trial run for our cross country adventure to try out feeding times/techniques, and to create ways of entertaining Maya as the trip got longer and longer.

The Blog is Back

To all of our wonderful followers who have checked daily for an update, the wait is over.  After a two year break, the blog is back.  Bernie and I hope to keep the blog as up to date as possible, so we can share our new adventure with our friends and family.

Here is a little re-cap of what has gone on over the past two years.  Our last post shows our baby girl Maya.  She is now 20 months old and a big sister.  Naila Kate joined the family on March 21st of this year.  She is a sweet little girl who is loved by all.  Maya cannot get enough of her little sister.  I cannot wait to see these girls grow up together.
As we continue to get closer to our moving date, we will update the blog about moving to India with these girls.  Next step, the movers come on June 12th.  I'm a little scared.

Progress in the garden!

It's been a while but I'll just jump in as if no time has passed at all. Here are pictures of our garden and the other fruits we are cultivating!

Thank you Thanksgiving!

Thanksgiving is just around the corner and we are super excited. Laura and I have an entire week off this year so that means an extra couple of days with fam, and a much more leisurely pace. This weekend we'll prep the house for winter, have our friends' Thanksgiving at Feni's place and then take off for the LOU'.

On another front, the Colorado Rapids are in the finals of the MLS playoffs and the game is on Sunday. What a tragedy it would be if we missed it especially after I accidentally went to such great lengths to prove my fanhood.

Go Rapids!

Pumpkins!

Its fall at last and we are enjoying (I am enjoying and Laura hates) the cold! Every degree drop makes us think more and more of snowboarding season. We are very excited--and will even try to go this Sunday. Here are a couple of pics of our latest adventures.

Here is my dear looking beautiful as the rain begins to fall. She chose Lopsided Lucy instead of a good old big and round one.

Time to watch a movie this evening before our soccer game! The Soloist.

Triathlon, not quite

Laura and I visited Tom for Friday night in Chicago. It was a fun filled surprise birthday for ol' Tommy boy, and then Laura, Nick, Tom O. and I got to go to the Notre Dame game. We lost but it was well worth it to experience a South Bend Saturday. We were signed up to run the Boulder Sunset Triathlon today but realized we were out of gas. Recovery this morning consisted of going to a Bronco's Tailgate and bringing Provin back to our house to hang. We're cleaning and freezing tomatoes this afternoon, along with watching the Broncos game and Back to the Future (good movie).
