Victory Garden

This is the new object of our affection.  We'll have to transplant them again when we move but these are the chance happening pumpkins that came up when we planted using some half decomposed compost.  Laura and I are committed to seeing ourselves through tough times by gardening our way out--and hopefully canning plenty of goods for the winter.
Here are the rest of our new babies.  We've got tomatoes (two varieties) peppers, cilantro, basil, and rosemary.  We can't wait to sample the fruits of our labors!
Here is how Nan Mac spent the weekend.  She was such a trooper helping us with some more of the wedding plans.  She addressed every single invitation herself!  Thanks a ton!
Besides doing a lot for the wedding, we enjoyed an afternoon in Boulder, made Paella at Burke and Tiffs after checking some of their renovations, and had James and Kim over for a delicious Easter meal that Nancy prepared.  Our only regret was that Allison wasn't able to come.

Crazy weather and a hectic spring.

This is Laura on a recent blizzard day at Breckenridge.  This is the run that she destroyed her knee on.  What a day for snowboarding though!
The next day we planted our starter plants and garden!  We used some of our compost and soil from years past.  We're excited for the chance to finally put these babies in a real garden.
Three kids and counting!  We "broke" three ribbons and still have plenty of chances to get some more kids.  Who came up with that craziness anyway?  Thanks to all who joined us for a wonderful time in St. Louis, especially Parker and Steve (the next Carlos Santana?) and Lynn and Bruce, and of course David and Nancy.  Three cheers for all of you.

Nancy Pants and Bernie Mack!

YO!!

We've had a couple of visits back to back.  I am currently watching The Princess Bride with my future Mother IN LAW and my future Wife.  And last week my pops made the trip out here for his spring break.  We were and are honored by their visits.

Wesley is discussing True Love with Buttercup-- "Do you think this happens everyday?"

Since we are a little bit tired we have decided not to go out tonight--instead we will cherish another viewing of one of our favorite movies.  BTW no six fingered men will be invited to OUR wedding.  I think the theme song/background music for the movie will be the background music for our wedding.  It's settled then.

Well, this weekend promises to be very exciting.  We're going to confirm the wedding site and show it off to Nan Mac and then on Sunday talk with a couple of other contractors about the house.  There is nothing I'd rather be doing than planning a wedding and remodeling a house at the same time!  oh, and teaching.  Oh and coaching soccer.  And dealing with the bank account that has been frauded.  Oh and playing in a couple of soccer leagues.  Oh and trying to sleep.

A Typical Sunday

This is how Laura (and I) have been spending our weekends for several months.  We always take out our wedding binder and check our progress and figure out what's next.  One of my favorite recent activities was checking out invitations.  Woohoo!
While planning the wedding we often get hungry.  Our favorite recent quick meal is a Tortilla Espanola.  It dominates our taste buds.
Saturday we had a sweet relaxin' time at Keystone.  Here we have Sarah Richards and a Laura who has just tasted a lime.
Burke was in gay spirits as he had a lot of friends with him.

From Weddings to Archie!

We were witnesses to a wonderful union--Ali and Adam tied the knot on A-train's Birthday.  We got to see some great stars in the planetarium and then watched the nuptials.  The two were extremely laid back and enjoyable at the reception--a true marvel and inspiration.
Adam and Ali inspired some excitement on our part also!  We've only got 7 months until our big day!  Laura couldn't keep her hands off of me!  On the way back to Kim's place where we stayed (thank you friend!) we got lost and ended up walking through a dry creekbed!
Here is Kate with little Archie Bernard!  We were so happy to see him and of course his great parents.  Laura and I went for a short visit but it was well worth it.  Kate and Ben are wonderful parents who already seem like seasoned veterans and it is obvious that they have support and love all around them.  Congrats to all three of you!

Happiness

Hello everyone this is Laura.  Thank you all for your emails, text messages, and voicemails, you have to love technology.  We are very excited out here.  I have to say I had a hard time enjoying the beauty of our 14er today because I kept looking looking at my hand.  Bernie is wonderful, last night as we were getting ready for our hike we both ended up in the closet.  If any of you have seen our closet, it is very small.  I cannot remember any of the conversation before he said, "This is as good of time as any,....." you know the rest.  It was perfect because I was SO SURPRISED.  Love you all.  I promise we will share details once we know them.  So far we know we are GETTING MARRIED!! but that is about all.  No idea where or when.  Love you all again and we will update soon.

Yes, I decided to buy a bike.  And no one can tell me otherwise!  NOT.

Laura was not so taken with the idea!!!!

She threatened to make weird faces!

So I got her a RING!

And SHE SAID YES!
