Calm weekend in Delhi

18.1. 2016

The first week back to school has been much easier this year in terms of jet lag—but hard in terms of jumping right back into the trials of the governance issues of the Board. We were greeted with an email early in the week saying that we were inviting a couple of candidates to visit the school over the weekend. We had 5 days notice and a rough schedule of events and times was given on Thursday evening. By Friday evening (8:17) we got an email citing “last minute visa issues” as the reason for pushing the visits back to the end of January. Everyone was a little relieved and mostly not surprised. The fears that we had about a shallow candidate pool, very difficult timing and a disorganized process are being confirmed each step of the way.

On the home front, this weekend was pretty relaxing. I didn’t have to work much on Saturday and went with Nicolas and Scott to INA and did some shopping. Laura and I went with the Gregors to Director’s Cut to watch “The Force Awakens”. It was awesome. In the evening I watched as Chelsea drew and Tottenham won; we ate Moti Mahal. Yesterday I took the gals to Mary Catherine and Richard Frazier’s house for the New Year’s Party—black eyed peas. It was great fun and the girls came away with lucky coins and prizes.

The air is still bad 325 this morning.
